Brickstream Extends Smart Stereo Technology into Security Sector

Atlanta, GA - March 27, 2007

Introducing the Clarity-3100S for End Point Security Detection and Real Time Alerting Brickstream, the leader in behavior measurement technology, today announced that it has applied its innovative stereo capabilities to the security arena. This breakthrough technology enables highly accurate wrong way motion, tailgating, and trip wire detection alerting.

Brickstream's security offering, the Clarity-3100S, is based on stereovision that captures 3D images which enable a broader set of counting and tracking applications with more accuracy than the two dimensional images recorded by traditional monocular cameras. The technology is deployed in new self-contained camera units that combine the stereo image capturing mechanism with Brickstream's patented BehaviorIQTM software. This platform is not as sensitive to environmental factors such as sunlight or crowded environments. The on-board BehaviorIQTM software analyzes and converts the video into an xml data stream for real-time analysis and reporting as well as integration with other vendors' video platforms or applications.

The units are less expensive to install and operate than traditional devices. By embedding BehaviorIQTM software into the camera platform, the total cost of ownership (TCO) is lower because no additional on-site hardware is required for data collection, counting, tracking, or alerting. Installation and maintenance is streamlined because the Clarity product only requires one standard power over Ethernet cable, eliminating the need for expensive and redundant cable for power and data transmission. The Clarity product is based on standard open technology, is IP addressable so that integrators can control and manage the units with their existing network management tools, and have built-in monitors to guarantee proper functionality.

The Brickstream strategy since its introduction of the Clarity platform in 2006 is to continue to broaden the product line for integration into vendor and integrator solution channels for Security, Retail, Banking, and other markets. To date Brickstream has developed relationships with 3VR and Dedicated Micros and is working with multiple vendors in the Security market. Going forward, Brickstream plans to add other security-focused behaviors into the tracking platform to meet partner demand. These may include abandoned or removed objects, motion detection - direction and speed, crowd congestion, or dispersal.

"Brickstream is entering the security market with some basic behaviors. Wrong way motion, tailgating, and trip-wire are common and pervasive needs in the security space. Along with improved accuracy and real time alerting capabilities, this advanced technology offers multiple benefits over basic monocular video analytics," said Steve Jeffery, chief executive officer for Brickstream. "We believe that the advantages of having the ability to detect and alert will create opportunities for our partners for their overarching platforms."

These security offerings add to Brickstream's products/applications currently installed in retail and financial services industries.
