The Most Accurate Sensors: Our 3-D video analytics appliances are the most accurate people-counting devices available. We guarantee 95% accuracy and typically deliver 98 to 99%. How? Because of the 3-D advantage:


Brickstream 3-D video sensors see past overlapping objects to provide truly accurate counts.

 

How do we know? Retailers often audit their automated counting systems by sampling video and manually counting the people seen, then comparing those counts to the numbers reported by the system. In these audits, competitor systems (when optimally tuned) typically score in the range of 80% accuracy; Brickstream consistently delivers 95% accuracy or better.

Edge Processing Architecture: Business metrics are derived from the raw video and analyzed within the device. In fact, Brickstream appliances can process up to two terabytes of data per day. This architecture offers several benefits compared to products that must stream video over your network:

  • Increases reliability: Network or power outages do not result in losing important data. The data is simply stored on the device and uploaded later.

  • Each arriving customer is assigned a track identifier.
  • Intelligent software links the tracks across cameras, following the customer wherever they go. (Because the system does not store captured video, there’s no need to worry about privacy issues.)
  • Built-in measurements clearly distinguish adult shoppers from children and shopping carts.
  • Shoppers walking together are tracked as individuals, but can also be discerned and analyzed as a shopping unit.

Other solutions only capture snapshots and then attempt to “fill in” the information gaps. For example, competitors’ queue management systems count the number of people in line, then use statistical methods to estimate wait times.

For Behavioral Intelligence applications, people are tracked across multiple cameras. The information is then processed on an in-store computer, where proprietary algorithms stitch together tracks across multiple cameras to produce continuous tracks.

Best of Breed Analytics and Reporting: At the enterprise level, data is collected and stored in the Brickstream Data Warehouse. The warehouse supports multidimensional analysis and is designed to integrate with any Business Intelligence reporting platform. Data is aggregated daily and metrics are typically stored in five-minute increments.

For optimal analytics and reporting, Brickstream integrates with the MicroStrategy BI platform, the leading business intelligence product for the retail sector. The Brickstream Portal is a suite of pre-built reports and queries for MircoStrategy, and supports easy development of custom reports.

For Traffic and Queueing Intelligence applications, Brickstream also provides custom dashboards for real-time data display, as well as alerts for critical conditions.
